Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The June 2007 trip to El Valle Dominican Republic
was awesome. Praise be to God thirty children and four adults received
Christ in their hearts.
My son Gordon and I taught English to the
children at the center and helped with their care. The children were
very excited to learn a new language and they did very well. We taught
three different age groups. Needless to say we were very busy.
The electric and water situation is still very
bad in El Valle, for the first fifteen hours we were there we didn’t
have electric or water which makes for a long day. The weather was
unusually dry for June and it was very, very hot. These things are so
small compared to what Christ went through for us. Glory to God!
In our spare time we helped to prepare a place for
the missionaries to stay that joined us in the middle of June.
The missionaries worked at the center with the
children, teaching them English and participating in their care. They
also held Vacation Bible School and conducted a baseball and kickball
ministry. We also ministered to the family members of the children in
their homes. It was a very exciting time for all.
The Dominican Project would like to thank all who
participated in the mission trip. When a person takes time out of his
or her busy schedule to spend time with a child, it shows that child
someone really does care. Thank you and God Bless You!
If there is anyone interested in taking part in a
mission trip to El Valle, Dominican Republic in 2008 or if you are a
teacher and God has placed it on your heart to be a full time missionary
please check out the mission opportunities section of our web site for
more information.
The children begin their school year in September
like we do here. The children at the center are in need of uniforms,
shoes and school supplies. You can send a child to school for $60
dollars a year. Without uniforms the children are not allowed to go to
school. Every child deserves an opportunity to get an education. If you
would like to help please send your donation to the Dominican Project
and indicate on the check for school supplies. Thank you!
Thank
you for your support and please don’t forget to spread the word about
the Dominican Project.
In His
Service,
